The Silver Streak

Drag Racing at Calrsbad Raceway:

Okay, so now we know. Traction was the biggest problem this time at the track. I just can't put the power to the pavement. After reading the article on slicks and DOT drag tires I've decided to go for it. There are some slicks in my future. I don't plan on going back to the track until then. The chassis improvements don't help with weight transfer at all. If I do this right the Silver Streak should be in the high 13's with the right tires for the job. On the other hand, I beat several cars including a Turbo Eclipse so what the hell! It's still fun!

The car was run in street trim with a quarter tank of gas. I added 104 Octane Boost (black bottle) and bumped the timing to 14 degrees (fuel pressure was 40 psi). I had no detonation and the car was running great. I think a little more gas for weight over the back wheels might have helped.
